Facial aesthetic medicine
The face ages in three ways at once: the skin loses quality, the structures beneath it lose volume, and repeated expression leaves its lines. The department addresses each, in the proportion your face requires, with injectable treatment prescribed by a doctor after an unhurried assessment of movement, structure and what you would like to change. Biostimulators rebuild volume gradually through your own collagen; prescription injectables soften the lines of expression; and where filler is the right answer it is used with restraint. The aim throughout is a face that looks rested rather than treated, and the interval between treatments is set by how your face responds rather than by a schedule.
· Biostimulator therapy. Where dermal filler adds volume directly, a biostimulator encourages your own body to rebuild what time has gradually reduced. Using clinically established formulations, including Sculptra and Radiesse, the treatment stimulates your skin’s own collagen production over a course of sessions, for a result that builds progressively rather than appearing all at once. It suits those seeking a natural restoration of facial volume and structural support rather than an immediately dramatic change, and reflects the Institute’s view that the best results are the ones built to last.
· Consultation for facial rejuvenation injectables. Some of the most requested treatments in facial rejuvenation involve prescription medicines, and for good reason: used appropriately, they offer a well-established, temporary softening of the lines caused by repeated facial movement. Treatment using botulinum toxin begins with an unhurried assessment of your facial movement, your goals and what is appropriate for you.
Energy-based treatment
Light, laser, radiofrequency and ultrasound each act on a different layer of the skin, and the department holds a leading platform for each so that the treatment is chosen for your skin rather than fitted to the machine available. Pigmentation, redness and sun damage are treated at their source; texture and fine lines are resurfaced to a depth and downtime that suit your schedule; and the deeper structural support of the skin is tightened without surgery. Every platform is calibrated to skin type, and treatments are combined where the result is better for it.
· Advanced light-based skin rejuvenation. Uneven tone, sun damage and visible redness are addressed most effectively at their source. BBL HEROic, Sciton’s latest generation of BroadBand Light technology, treats pigmentation, redness and overall skin quality with a precision and comfort earlier light-based treatments could not offer, guided by skin-mapping technology that adapts treatment in real time. Suitable for the face and body, it is frequently combined with resurfacing treatments for a compounded improvement in tone, clarity and radiance.
· Laser skin resurfacing. For deeper concerns, fine lines, textural damage and the visible effects of years of sun exposure, laser resurfacing remains one of the most effective tools available, and the technology has advanced considerably. Halo, Sciton’s hybrid fractional laser, treats tone, texture and fine lines with a customisable balance of depth and downtime suited to your skin and your schedule. For more significant resurfacing, Contour TRL offers a fully tunable, deeper treatment for those seeking a more substantial change. Both are selected and calibrated individually.
· Monopolar radiofrequency skin therapy. Skin loses structural support gradually, and monopolar radiofrequency addresses this directly, delivering controlled heat to the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen remodelling without surgery or downtime. Two leading platforms are offered: Thermage FLX, the established benchmark, and XERF, a newer dual-frequency system delivering energy to three depths within a single treatment. Your clinician will recommend the platform best suited to your skin and your goals. Treatment is typically completed in one or two sessions, with results developing over the following months and maintenance recommended thereafter, and it suits the face, neck and body wherever a firmer, more supported quality of skin is the goal.
Skin health
Skin health looks at hydration, tone, clarity and resilience, maintained over time rather than corrected once. The department provides the medical facial, medical phototherapy and the regenerative treatments that support the skin’s own repair, delivered as a programme and reviewed against photographs.
· Stem Cell–Derived Regenerative Therapy. Skin carries its own capacity for repair, signalled cell to cell by growth factors and proteins. Our regenerative therapy draws on this directly, using CALECIM® Professional, a clinically studied, ethically sourced stem cell–derived complex, to support the skin’s own restorative processes. Commonly used following microneedling or energy-based resurfacing, it may support smoother texture, improved tone and firmness, and a faster, more comfortable recovery after in-clinic procedures.
· Exosome Therapy. Exosomes are among the most closely studied messengers in modern cell biology — the means by which cells instruct one another to repair and renew. Our topical exosome treatment uses Purasomes®, the most widely adopted exosome complex in current UK clinical practice, derived entirely from organic bovine colostrum, applied directly to skin prepared by microneedling to receive it at its most effective depth. Delivered as a course, typically monthly initially with periodic maintenance thereafter, it is designed to support the skin’s visible condition, radiance and post-procedure recovery.
· Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy. Some of the most effective regenerative treatments use nothing but your own biology. PRP concentrates the platelets and growth factors already present in your blood, using RegenLab® or Eclipse PRP®, two of the most established systems in UK practice, and reintroduces them directly into the skin. The result builds gradually over a course of sessions, as your own collagen responds — a genuinely autologous approach to skin rejuvenation.
Body
Body treatment is undertaken where diet and training have done what they can, and a concern remains. The department provides non-surgical fat reduction and muscle stimulation, skin tightening for the areas the face-focused platforms also serve, and laser hair removal safe across every skin type including the darkest. Each is assessed against body composition measured by densitometry and reviewed at interval.
Hyperhidrosis
Excessive sweating of the underarms is common, distressing, and permanently treatable. The department provides miraDry, a microwave treatment that eliminates the sweat glands beneath the skin in one or two sessions with lasting effect, as well as prescription and injectable treatment where they are the better choice or the concern is elsewhere on the body. Assessment first establishes that the sweating is not secondary to another condition, with Endocrine medicine where it may be.
Hair restoration
Hair loss is investigated before it is treated, because its cause determines what will work. The department examines the scalp by trichoscopy and treats it with the combination that the diagnosis warrants. Treatment is a course rather than a single session, and its effect is measured against your own baseline.
· Stem Cell–Derived Regenerative Therapy. The same cell-signalling science that supports skin repair applies directly to the scalp. Using CALECIM® Professional’s dedicated hair formulation, and RegenLab®, the leading platelet-rich plasma system, where an injectable option is appropriate, this treatment supports the scalp’s own regenerative activity rather than working against hair thinning from the outside. Delivered as a course, it is a natural extension of your broader longevity programme, aimed at supporting hair density over time.
· Exosome Therapy. The same signalling molecules that support skin renewal are put to work on the scalp. Purasomes® is also available in a dedicated formulation for scalp and hair density, applied after microneedling to reach the follicle at its most receptive. Delivered as a course, moving to periodic maintenance, it supports scalp health and hair density as part of a considered, long-term approach rather than a single quick fix.
· Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy. PRP is one of the most established regenerative options for hair thinning, using nothing but your own biology. Using RegenLab® or Eclipse PRP®, platelets and growth factors are concentrated from your own blood and reintroduced directly to the scalp, supporting follicular activity from within. Results build gradually over a course of sessions — a genuinely autologous approach to hair restoration, with nothing introduced that your body didn’t produce itself.
Scarring and lesions
Scars, whether from surgery, acne or injury, and benign lesions of the skin are treated by the method suited to their type and site. Scars are treated by laser resurfacing and vascular laser, and lesions by excision, cryotherapy, electrocautery or laser, with histology where any lesion warrants it. Every lesion is examined by dermoscopy before it is treated, and where there is any question of malignancy it is referred to Dermatology.
Intimate dermatology
Conditions of the intimate skin, such as pigmentation, laxity, scarring after childbirth, and the changes that follow the menopause, are treated by consultants in aesthetic medicine and gynaecology working together. Laser treatment for laxity and pigmentation, and regenerative treatment with platelet-rich plasma, are provided here.
